Biography

Shawn Anthony Camp… Married with one child… Is a 1994 graduate of Robinson High School in Fairfax, VA… Also attended the University of North Alabama… Is one of four George Mason University (Fairfax, VA) alumni to play in the majors, along with C Chris Widger (1995-2005), RHP Mike Draper (1993) and OF Mike Colangelo (1999, 2001-02).

Appeared in 59 games, 4th most on the club… A NEW STANDARD: Set career highs in innings pitched, with 79.2 and strikeouts with 58… His 3.50 ERA is the lowest of his career surpassing the 3.92 of his rookie season…Lost a career high six games… LEFT LOCKDOWN: Came into the season allowing a career mark of .353 to left-handed hitters, however in 2009 held them to a .260 average… KEEPIN ‘EM IN IT: In 18 of his 59 games worked at least two innings, pitching to a 2.00 ERA (45 IP/9 ER)… In fact worked three or more innings in five contests, pitching to a 1.13 ERA (10 IP/2 ER)… Sept. 27 vs. SEA posted his first save and the 7th of his career… Marked his first save since July 4, 2006 vs. BOS… FINE BEGINNING/GREAT FINISH: Did not allow a run in his first eight appearances totaling 7.1 innings… Also did not allow a run in 10 consecutive appearances from Sept 3-27 covering 11.2 innings, and finished the season allowing a run in one of his final 13 outings… SCORELESS STREAK: His run of 11.2 innings scoreless in Sept. marked a new career high, surpassing the 8.2 from 2008… BEAR DOWN: Allowed the lead-off hitter to bat .310, however with runners in scoring position, held opponents to a .229 average, while limiting the opposition even further with RISP/2 out, to a .200 mark.
