Kyle Jordan Drabek… Single… Is the son of former major league pitcher Doug Drabek… Graduate of The Woodlands High School… Was 10-0 his senior year, 1.18 ERA in 10 starts (65.0 IP), allowed 34 hits, walked 23 and struck out 112.
2009 Highlights
Began the season with Clearwater (A) in the Florida Statre League… Made 10 starts allwoing more than three runs in only two starts… Held FSL hitters to a .218 average, while striking out 74 in 61.2 innings… BIG FINISH/ STRONG START: In his last start at Clearwater pitched a comlete game five-hit shutout on May 29… Was promoted to Reading (AA) in the Eastern League in time for his next start on June 3… In his appearnce for Reading continued his streak of scoreless innings with seven shutout to pick up his first win at AA… Won his first five decisions at AA, and did not pick up a loss until his 8th start… HIGHLY THOUGHT OF: Received the Paul Owens Award recognizing him as the top pitcher in the Phillies system… Is ranked by Baseball America as the Blue Jays #1 prospect.
